Who we are
Volunteers from Ashington, with real kit
We're an independent, volunteer-run fire and rescue service and a community interest company. Our home village is Ashington, and we serve West Sussex and East Sussex.
Our trained volunteer firefighters bring a fire appliance, rescue 4x4s, rescue boats and drones. We give our time because we put the community first, and we've built links with the RNLI along the way.

Before you book
What level of cover does my event need?
It depends on your risk assessment. We scale from a two-firefighter fire marshal team up to a fully crewed fire appliance, rescue 4x4s or a safety boat crew. Call us and we'll talk it through with you.
Do you cover bonfires and banger racing?
Yes. Bonfires and banger racing are a big part of what we do, including the hours we put in during August 2025.
Can you provide a safety boat for a river or inshore event?
Yes. We provide a crew of four on purpose-built rescue boats for river and inshore events.
How far do you travel?
Event cover across West and East Sussex, water and search and rescue across the South East, and NHS support nationwide. If you're further afield, ask us.

Our office is open 08:00 to 17:00, and we're operational 24 hours. In an emergency, always dial 999.
